The ABH Structured Outpatient Addiction Program (SOAP) Committee developed the attached Harm Reduction Quickguide in an effort to compile a wealth of information about harm reduction activities into a short, useable format for ABH provider members, clients and individuals who continue to use substances.
The SOAP Committee’s goals in producing this guide were to:
- promote the reduction of harms to individuals, families and communities caused by substance use;
- improve the lives of those who continue to use substances;
- reduce the number of deaths caused by drug overdose; and
- reduce the spread of viral infections such as HIV and Hepatitis.
The Quickguide is 25 pages in length and can be printed double-sided in color. You can distribute the Quickguide as a full document or print any of the Resource materials individually to be used as handouts. It also contains many links to websites for additional information. If you have trouble accessing any of those web addresses just let me know.
Please share this information with staff and clients or current users of drugs/alcohol as you deem appropriate.
Thanks,
Connie
