Adaptive Leadership Seminar - September 2, 2020 | 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: After careful consideration and in response to recommendations to adopt social distancing practices to slow the spread of COVID-19, ABH and the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers have made the decision to host this training on a virtual platform.

The Association for Behavioral Healthcare (ABH), in partnership with the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, has a grant from the Delta Center for a Thriving Safety Net to increase capacity around value-based purchasing and care. The Delta Center has promoted Adaptive Leadership (AL) as a framework for organizations preparing for complex change. The AL framework, developed by management researchers at Harvard University, is taught throughout the US and across the globe.

Adaptive Leadership is a practical leadership framework that helps individuals and organizations adapt and thrive in challenging environments. It focuses on developing both on the individual and collective level the ability to take on the gradual but meaningful process of change. Adaptive Leadership is purposeful evolution in real time.

We are pleased to be able to bring a half-day introduction to AL to the membership of ABH and the League. The program will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. The training will be led by Kimberlyn Leary, PhD of the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Leary is a psychologist, with experience in community-based clinics, and many years of experience as a trainer and teacher. This session will include a didactic presentation as well as small group work on a specific case presentation.
